Washington is a beautiful state in general, but if we focus in on Olympia, there is much to be said for the experience that awaits. Skydiving takes on a whole new meaning in that city. Take a look at the scenery; we won’t need to explain why Skydiving.com Olympia partner dropzones are located in the destination that you can’t miss.

Known as remarkably clean and beautiful, there are landmarks that can only be found in Olympia, such as the Washington Capitol Building, where Washington State legislators are based. There are also farmers’ markets, complementing the breathtaking sites of Capitol Lake and Mima Mounds on, say, a nice Saturday morning. Parks include the Woodard Bay Natural Resources Conservation Area, Priest Point Park, Watershed Park, and Yauger Park. Priest Point Park, for example, has a basketball court, a garden, and many other amusing offerings for families.

What is particularly unique about Olympia is that artesian waters played a primal role in its beginnings, so from a historical standpoint, it’s a supremely interesting city that seeks to preserve its culture. There is influence from these beginnings in the state parks, as there are parks that have been built around the springs, and the state has worked to repair and maintain these locations properly.

If you’re into cultural events, there are exhibitions all year round as well as local publications, such as The Olympian. Olympia, Washington has just about everything that a city could offer, located in a perfect area geographically and offering visitors spectacular memories through nature. The Daniel R. Bigelow House is a famous attraction in Olympia. It’s been around since the 19th century and is preserved as a historic relish.

If you plan to go on vacation and are looking for an excuse to buy a roundtrip ticket somewhere new, look no further than Olympia, Washington. There are museums for families, such as the Hands On Children’s Museum; there are hiking trails, perfect for summertime; and there are waterfalls. Washington, which is located in the Pacific Northwest, has milder winters than other states, but winters do get relatively chilly. Still, skydiving through Skydiving.com Olympia is pleasant throughout the entire year.

Regardless of the time of year that you visit, however, there are things to see and do. In September, Olympia hosts the Washington State Fair. If you live in the area, there is plenty for you to do, and you get the opportunity to possibly use Skydiving.com Olympia for all your skydiving needs.

Tandem Skydiving near Olympia, Washington

Tandem Skydiving Has Never Been Easier

Perhaps the most popular form of skydiving is tandem skydiving–or at least one of the most popular for those skydiving for the very first time. If you want to feel safe in knowing there is someone attached to you pulling all the strings as you jump, this is the type of method you should inquire about when you call to book your next adventure. They guide you all the way through the landing.

The good news is that if you start freaking out before the jump using this method, there’s no need–tandem skydiving requires a minimalistic approach. Your only job is to enjoy the ride because the tandem instructor makes the experience an incredible one by taking care of all the logistical aspects. The idea of jumping in Olympia should make you jittery with excitement, seeing as the views are immensely breathtaking.

In the United States, the legal age to go skydiving is 18. Tandem skydiving is common among the younger crowds, as it seems to be quite the rite of passage. It’s more than just a dream for those turning 18. It is a sport, and as with any sport, it can be mastered. Practice is essential for beginners, so you can purchase packages that will facilitate this process, but tandem skydiving is definitely the way to go at first.

This isn’t to say that you won’t get training prior to your experience with tandem skydiving, it just means that you can relax as you’re guided through the process. This process includes proper exit strategies, implementation of techniques that can be used during the freefall process, and canopy deployment. It is important to learn about this process because, if you truly do enjoy it, it will help prepare you for a different type of skydiving method: Advanced Training.

A drogue parachute is the one that is used in modern tandem skydiving. Instructors–who must have USPA (United States Parachute Association) certifications–have had much experience with this process, so they know how to deploy perfectly and you, of course, are in great hands. The instructors at our affiliate dropzones are qualified as well as determined to keep you safe and make sure you understand that. Also, Skydiving.com Olympia will ensure that your doubts are cleared before you jump because we want you to truly embrace the experience, let go of worries, and enjoy the view. Let the experts do the work–that’s what tandem skydiving entails.

Tandem Parachuting in Olympia!

In terms of pricing, static line jumping is cheaper, but for beginners, there is an obvious reason as to why tandem skydiving is the ultimate choice: static line jumping trains you to jump on your own. Although somebody is guiding you through the process, it is more hands-on for the individual seeking out the skydiving experience and requires more knowledge of the process. In static line jumping, however, the instructor still tries to make him or herself available to help through as much of the process as possible. Because there’s only a main parachute process involved in the tandem jump, you can participate as much as you want–or as little as you want, if you just want to say cheese for the camera.

As the person experiencing the skydiving adventure, you will be able to see the national parks, monuments, lakes, and streets–all from a bird’s eye view. Simultaneously, you will be experiencing an internal rush, a sensation unlike anything you’ve ever felt before, a feeling of liberation that you’ll want to relive. But we’re certain that, more than anything, you’ll leave with a feeling of accomplishment because you’ve probably been planning to do this for some time. Once you do it, you’ll realize it’s easy, fun, and safe.

Skydiving.com Olympia is sure to make you want to skydive again. In fact, with views such as these, you will not understand why you didn’t come to us sooner. There are diverse views just within one city–and the ability to see the entire city’s attractions meshed into one perspective will be mind-blowing. This jump will blow your mind because the entire experience will be picture-worthy, and you’ll want to see such scenery and feel such euphoria time and time again. We don’t blame you. A friendly staff will welcome you with open arms each time you come back to jump!

Advanced Skydiving Training in Olympia, Washington

Becoming Certified To Fly Solo

We take safety very seriously at Skydiving.com Olympia and at all of our network locations. All of our partner’s instructors are certified by the USPA, and they continuously work on practicing safe jumping techniques and on practical, efficient ways of teaching, such techniques to those looking to get certified. Because safety is a main concern, there are two primary ways to go about the training process, and it is a long process in order to make sure that those who jump solo are confident in their abilities.

In order for the instructors to walk you through the ins and outs of jumping, it is important to keep in mind that there are steps and prerequisites before you’re allowed to jump entirely on your own–and before we feel confident enough to let you do so. One method uses the Accelerated Free Fall technique while the other one uses the Tandem Progression technique. By using the former, you’re essentially jumping while you’re about 10,000 to 15,000 feet up in the air. By using the latter, on the other hand, you are taught how to skydive by using an introductory approach mixed with the AFF method. Tandem Progression definitely proves the importance of teamwork, provided that the learner is gradually able to progress individually.

USPA offers different levels of certifications and requires renewal of such certifications in order to make sure that those with certificates remain capable and qualified. In order to obtain the USPA certification in the first place, there is a rigorous process involved. Licenses range from A through D, and those certified must make their way from A, which is the initial license, to D. Because of this long process, you should feel that you are out of harm’s way, receiving training from professionals who truly do care about making sure you have fun and stay safe.

Accelerated Free Fall Training in Olympia, Washington

The Accelerated Free Fall Routine

During the Accelerated Free Fall process, you are protected. You are trained by one to two professionals, solely dedicated to your well-being. Aside from this, it is most likely that two instructors will jump with you–at least during the initial three AFF jumps. These jumps will test whether you are ready to be advancing into this level because it is definitely not similar to tandem skydiving, where you’re basically not responsible for truly knowing how to work a parachute. In terms of the AFF, you are responsible for listening, putting safety as a top priority, and responding quickly and resiliently to trouble.

During these jumps, one professional will be holding on to you, though he or she is simply waiting for you to open up your parachute in order to open his or hers. It is your job to know how to do this. Said instructor might use hand motions to remind you to pull if they begin to wonder whether you’re having trouble or have forgotten, though they might try to be more direct and literal in their assistance by either placing your hand in the right area or opening the parachute for you. This might be done if the instructor feels that you are entering dangerous territory.

Once you’ve mastered the first few jumps, the instructor might allow you to begin your own journey, in which case you’ll be jumping closer to the ground. Though the instructor will still try to be nearby at this point, students are told that they will now be given more independence in the skydiving process. They’re supposed to have gone through sufficient training to be more professional about the process. Because the student is expected to already know how to master the jump prior to flying solo, instructors at this point might not be close enough to help or even have the time to make sure that the landing is perfect. You are essentially expected, at this point, to know how to master the jump.

There is an extra parachute that automatically opens up if you’re getting close to dangerous levels without one. In this level, most of the communication that goes on between a student and an instructor involves hand motions. If radio communication fails, it is expected that you have been sufficiently trained to handle the situation, but the extra parachute might open at this point–if you haven’t yet opened yours.

U.S. regulations are less strict than the USPA when it comes to skydiving. The right equipment is needed, according to U.S. law, but the training process is not mandatory. The FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) must approve the equipment, however, and they must be safe to use. The USPA is useful in determining qualified instructors because of the rigorous certification process, so students are best off learning from those with USPA certifications. Skydiving requires diligence and the ability to foresee trouble, reacting in a timely, calm manner.

The practice that these instructors receive while getting their certifications far exceeds the expectations of the U.S. alone, which means that students should feel as though they’re making the safe decision when training with them. Students looking to acquire their own USPA licenses should feel motivated by the fact that they can then navigate their way through USPA dropzones.

It is important that you keep in mind that this type of training is not for the feint of heart. In fact, it does require students to pay close attention to instructors’ guidelines, and it is not for those easily distracted. Your safety should always be a main priority, and it cannot be taken lightly, but if you feel ready to take on a new type of lifestyle and seek adventure, it might be time to take your jumping to the next level. It might be time to consider the Accelerated Free Fall.

Olympia, Washington Tandem Progression Skydiving Training

The Tandem Progression Cycle

This method might be more appropriate for you if you’re just trying to take a step forward from the very basic tandem jump. The tandem progression takes a bit of the tandem jump and the AFF in order to combine the best aspects of both. Once you’ve jumped successfully three times, two instructors will jump with you at first, until eventually it’s just one. Essentially, by the time that you have reached the AFF aspect, you have been given most of the responsibility and are expected to manage on your own. The tandem progression strategy is a great way to learn because it requires students to assume more responsibility during each of the three tandem jumps until, finally, the responsibility comes naturally to them.

If you’re the type of person who might freeze up after learning a big load of information at once, this might be the best strategy because you slowly learn by example as opposed to being thrown everything in one stride. Although it is a less popular option, it works for certain people, and you might be able to determine whether this strategy may work for you.

If it seems as though this strategy sounds promising and effective, that’s because it works. Skydiving.com Olympia offers students the opportunity to pick between AFF and tandem progression, and we strongly recommend that you carefully analyze both options.

Because skydiving is a sport that requires a certain level of responsibility on one’s end in order to stay safe, it is crucial that students listen to instructors and heed their advice, provided that they have decided to jump by any means other than tandem. Tandem progression is more serious than merely a tandem jump, and this is an important differentiation between the two: whereas a tandem jump requires no diligence on behalf of the student, the tandem progression falls somewhere between the tandem and the Accelerated Free Fall.

Olympia Skydiving Gift Certificates

Skydiving Gift Certificates

A skydiving gift certificate that allows another to use our services is a gift that keeps on giving… because it’s one they’ll never forget. You can give them the opportunity to maybe face a fear and do something that they’ve only ever dreamed of doing. They’ll only have you to thank for such a wonderful gift, especially if they get video footage to go along with the experience. Tell them that video footage will allow you to live their present along with them. While deciding which gift certificate to get someone, there are a few things to consider.

From the day that you purchase the gift card, for instance, there is a two-year window in which it can be used. However, even though the validity expires, the gift card is transferable and, therefore, doesn’t have to be used by the original recipient. But that’s not all–it also doesn’t matter where the recipient lives because, odds are, that there’s a location in the U.S. near them. The gift card will be acceptable at the 80+ Skydiving.com affiliate locations scattered across the country, so whether they want to skydive near them or take the opportunity to travel, the decision is entirely up to them. Each city has something unique to offer to skydivers. Most of all, each city has a charm all its own.

Also, if the recipient of the gift card has any issues with the purchase, they should feel free to call our customer service line. We are available seven days a week, and we are eager to attend to any concerns that may arise. The recipients should also keep in mind that weather problems prompt for immediate rescheduling, so they don’t have to worry if the weather decides not to cooperate.

If they want to know how the process is set to go, they will be briefed on common skydiving etiquette, followed by the chance to meet their respective instructors, and off they’ll go!

The gift card deals are primarily for the tandem skydiving plan, but there is also a gift card available for the initial level of AFF. As for the tandem skydiving and AFF level 1 gift cards, you can choose whether to also include the video footage or to opt out. But if you want to relive their experiences with them, we recommend that you pull all the strings and include a footage option! Tell them you want proof to be shown that they put their gift to good use.
